History Of Center The Al-Farooq Islamic Center was formed in 1999, when Muslims new to the area, they felt a need for an organization to preserve their Islamic identity and help them observe their obligations as Muslims. The Al-Farooq Islamic Center was formed in 1999, when Muslims new to the area, they felt a need for an organization to preserve their Islamic identity and help them observe their obligations as Muslims. The start was in a rental house that was used for the five daily prayers, the Friday prayers and the weekly seminars of Quraan classes. As time passed and more Muslims moved to Nashville area, it became necessary for the community to find a location larger than the rental house. The Muslims began to search for a suitable location to warship and finally a place was chosen in the south of Nashville, TN. With the generosity of the Muslim community, the brothers and sisters of the community were able to transform the place into its current condition as the Al-Farooq Islamic Center. Masjid Al-Farooq Purpose: Is to create an Islamic environment for our community by providing them with a place to establish daily prayers, gain an Islamic Education, Quraβan memorization and also to hold activities, halaqas and events like Eid for the whole community, young and old.
