Who We Are

UmmahCity is operated by Ummah Media Group LLC, a registered company in California, USA. These Terms of Service govern your use of UmmahCity (ummah.city) and all associated Ummah Media Group products including UmmahPass, UmmahCauses, UmmahPlaces, ummah.email, and UmmahArmy.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using UmmahCity and any Ummah Media Group product, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

Description of Services

UmmahCity is a Muslim-first super-app providing access to a suite of digital services for the global Muslim community, including but not limited to:

  • Prayer Times and Qibla - Location-based Islamic prayer time calculations, locally processed
  • UmmahPass - Identity and membership (Ummah One)
  • ummah.email - Muslim-owned email service
  • UmmahCauses - Verified charity giving platform
  • UmmahPlaces - Halal business directory
  • UmmahArmy - Community action platform

User Accounts and Ummah One Membership

An UmmahPass account is required to access member features. Ummah One membership tiers (Individual, Annual, Lifetime, and Family) are billed through Stripe. Subscription billing, refund policies, and membership terms are governed by the UmmahPass Terms of Service, which you should read in full before subscribing.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use UmmahCity services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with Islamic ethics. You must not:

  • Use the services to distribute haram content, harass others, or violate any applicable law
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of our services
  • Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data without written permission
  • Impersonate any person, organization, or UMG staff member
  • Misuse the UmmahCauses charity platform or misrepresent your organization

Donations (UmmahCauses)

Donations made through UmmahCauses are processed by Stripe. Ummah Media Group facilitates payment processing only - all listed charities are independently verified 501(c)(3) organizations. A 2.5% platform fee applies to donations to sustain the Giveback programme. We do not guarantee the activities of listed charities beyond our verification process. For concerns about a specific charity, contact us immediately at salaam@ummahcauses.org.

UmmahPlaces Business Listings

Listings on UmmahPlaces are provided as a community resource. UMG does not guarantee the accuracy, halal certification status, or continued operation of any listed business. Listing information is sourced from public records, business owners, and community contributions. Business owners may claim and update their listings by contacting us at salaam@ummahplaces.com.

Islamic Content and Knowledge (Learn District)

Content and resources linked from the Learn District are curated from trusted Islamic institutions (Bayyinah, SeekersGuidance, Yaqeen Institute, Quran.com, Sunnah.com, etc.). UMG does not produce or own this content - we link to third-party resources. Always verify scholarly content with qualified scholars in your tradition.

Prayer Times (Amanah Notice)

Prayer times displayed by UmmahCity are calculated locally on your device using the adhan-js library. Times are estimates based on astronomical calculations for your location and selected calculation method. They are not a fatwa. Please verify with your local masjid for Eid, moon-sighting, and high-latitude prayers where there is scholarly difference of opinion.

Intellectual Property

The UmmahCity name, UmmahPass, UmmahCauses, UmmahPlaces, UmmahArmy, and all associated logos, design elements, and content produced by Ummah Media Group LLC are our intellectual property. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

Limitation of Liability

UmmahCity services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Ummah Media Group LLC is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to any UmmahCity service at any time for violation of these terms, without prior notice. You may close your account at any time by contacting us.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Los Angeles County, California, unless mutually agreed otherwise.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered members of material changes via email. Your continued use of UmmahCity services after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
