About Masjid Al-Huda Masjid al-Huda is a non-profit religious organization dedicated to establishing a holistic Muslim community, promoting good understanding of Islam and building positive relations among Muslims and non-Muslims. A Masjid is the most important institution in an Islamic community. There, a Muslim rekindles his spirituality, strengthens his relationship with his Creator, meets his fellow Muslim brothers/sisters and renews his sense of belonging. Masjids in the US play a special multi-faceted role of not only being a place for a means of worship but much more. It’s a symbol of our identity and upholds the integrity of the Muslim community. History of Masjid al Huda 2010 – Started off under the non-profit of Nurinstitute providing classes, weekly programs, intensives, retreats, etc for the community​. 2011 – As the community benefited and finding space become more and more difficult, it became imperative the need for a central location to continue programs and services​. 2012 – Local brothers found an old St. Anne’s Church that was deserted for the past 6 years. 2013 – On the anniversary of the battle of Badr, the 17th of Ramadan, a verbal agreement was agreed upon for the purchase of the 1.65 million dollar property with the intention of establishing the first Masjid in Union City, CA​ 2014 – Renovations to the property began. 2014 – The youth played a central role in the renovations and initial support for the project. Many brothers and sisters spent weeks on end sacrificing their weekends in order to meet project deadlines. 2015 – First Jumu’ah prayer in the Masjid. 2016 – From the grace and mercy of Allah, the Masjid was paid off with no interest bearing loans and outstanding loans. 2017 – Full time Alimiyya (Advance Islamic Studies) program started at Masjid al Huda. 2023 – 10 year anniversary of the establishment of Masjid al Huda 2023 – Masjid al Huda Expansion Project Permit Process Started.
