The Center was established on December 11, 2001 to serve the local and growing vibrant Muslim community in Kansas. The Center is a “Not for Profit” Islamic organization registered and incorporated in the State of Kansas, USA. The Center is Tax Exempt under the rules of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the State of Kansas 501 (c) (3) Code. The Center is located at 14750 W 143rd street, Olathe, KS 66062. It was purchased and is owned by the local Muslim Community as Islamic Center of Kansas (ICK) on December 2005. It is also registered as an Islamic Trust (Waqf) with North American Islamic Trust (NAIT). The Center mission is to live our Muslim faith as a congregation, inspired by the teachings of the Quran and Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) as individuals and as a collective body, and to be the anchor of a model community of practicing Muslims of diverse backgrounds, democratically governed, efficiently served, relating to one another with inclusiveness and tolerance, and interacting with neighbors in an Islamic exemplary fashion. In pursuit of our mission we choose to emphasize these particular values: The goodness and the love of God manifested in all creation The dignity of the person called to wholeness by God The spiritual power of community committed to prayer and service Our Goals To live and share our faith with all God’s people To teach Islamic beliefs and values in the context of deepening spirituality and community involvement To inspire leaders for stewardship in community service To make our Mosques vital centers for worship and community needs To empower the community to lead an Islamic way of life ICK provides services for the Muslim community and the community at-large in Johnson County, Kansas and the Kansas City, KS metro area. This includes five daily prayer services, Friday congregational prayers and services for over 400 people, Educational programs, both adult and school age children, for women and men and youth activities and enrichment.
