About Our Institution Islam in East Orange Since 1981 As Salaamu Alaykum. Welcome to the Islamic Center of America! We are honored to have you with us. Our center serves as a place of worship, community, and learning. Here we strive to foster a deep understanding of Islam, promote unity, and provide a welcoming environment for all. Whether you are here to pray, learn, or engage with others, we are committed to supporting your spiritual and personal growth. Our Mission & Vision The mission of the Islamic Center of America is to provide the facilities and the means, to the best of its ability, that will allow Muslims, regardless of race, gender, or nationality, to worship Allaah alone without ascribing partners in worship with Him. The Center was founded by a group of Muslims, who voluntarily embraced Islam. Our History The Islamic Center of America was founded in 1981 as Masjid Rawdatullah in East Orange, New Jersey,ย providing a place for Muslims to worship Allah. As the community grew, the center expanded, purchasing a 5,000-square-foot building in 1983 and later establishing a full-time Islamic school. In 1997, the center acquired a 66,686-square-foot facility, including a 19,000-square-foot masjid that can accommodate over 3,500 worshippers, making it one of the largest in the country. Today, the center houses Masjidu Ahlis Sunnah, Madrasatu Ahlis Sunnah with nearly 20 classrooms, and Maktabatu Ahlis Sunnah, serving
