Humbly serving our beautiful, blossoming Muslim community, we’re a non-profit organization driven by your generous support. Serving our local Muslim community since 2008. Alhamdullilah, by the grace of Allah, the Islamic Institute of Minnesota became a reality for local worshippers nearly two decades ago. Spearheaded by the dedicated leadership of Brothers Ezzeddeen Taha, Amin Kader and Mohamed Elakkad, the community was able to raise the funds necessary to purchase the former drugstore and convert it into the beautiful space we all enjoy today. Around the same time, the leadership group additionally collaborated to launch the Minnesota Islamic Cemetery Association which provides our community with affordable, respectful burial services in accordance with Islamic teachings. The Association has plots available in Burnsville, Maplewood and Columbia Heights.
