UmmahBuzz is operated by Ummah Media Group LLC, a US-based company. Our privacy posture is simple: we don't sell your data, and no third party tracks you here - no Google Analytics, no ad-network cookies. UmmahBuzz does run UMG's own first-party system that links your reading activity to your UmmahPass profile across our sites, used to improve the product - it's fully disclosed, and you can turn it off (which deletes the profile, not just future collection) in your UmmahPass privacy settings.

What we collect

If you upvote, save, or submit: we store your UmmahPass account ID linked to those actions.
Anonymous traffic: we run privacy-respecting analytics (Matomo, self-hosted) with IP anonymization. No Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel.
Cookies: session cookies for login state. No third-party advertising cookies.

What we don't do

Sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
Share data with advertisers about who you are.
Follow you around the wider web, or hand your activity to ad networks or data brokers. (Our own first-party system, described above, stays inside UMG - it is never sold, never shared outside UMG, and never exported to an ad platform.)

UmmahPass single sign-on

When you sign in to UmmahBuzz with UmmahPass, we receive your UmmahPass user ID, screenname, and (if scope granted) email. We don't request anything else. News content + sources

UmmahBuzz aggregates headlines and excerpts from third-party publishers (Middle East Eye, Al Jazeera, IslamicFinder, etc.) via their public RSS/Atom feeds. We link back to the original source on every story. We don't republish full articles. Copyright belongs to the original publishers.

Children's privacy

UmmahBuzz is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

The rest of the policy

UmmahBuzz is part of the UmmahCity ecosystem and runs on a shared UmmahPass account. This site loads the UmmahPass behavioral tracking script, which links your activity across UMG sites to a profile you can turn off and erase at any time in your UmmahPass privacy settings.
